I finished my rebuild/repaint/upgrade project a few months ago, & it's running great. Quick history: The car is a 93 vert, 5 spd, red w/black top & interior, that was converted to TT about 3 1/2 years ago. It had 57k when I got the JDM clip, so I didn't rebuild at that time. But it was starting to get a little tired, so i pulled it & had it bored out & rebuilt. While it was out, I repainted everything. Body color, & black. The repaint was more work than I anticipated. First was the degreasing, sanding & prepping everything. Followed by 3 coats of epoxy primer, 3 coats of urethane primer, 3-4 coats of base coat, & 3-4 coats of clear. With a flex agant added to the plastic parts. But I am real happy with the way it turned out. Then I did a few upgrades while everything was out. The JWT Sport 700 turbos had some light fin damage, so I installed new chra's. They had the .86 A/R housings, & I changed to the .64 housings. And I upgraded to 3" downpipes. People make a big deal about the .86/.64 thing, but after making the change to .64 housings, & bigger downpipes, I didn't notice a lot of difference in spool up, or anything else. I can hear a little more whine inside the car from the turbos spooling, & it did change the sound of the exhaust a little (for the better). But I didn't feel much difference. I haven't taken it to the dyno yet. I wanted to add the Selin trnaslator 1st, which I haven't done yet. Since I'm in Minnesota, that proably won't get done until spring now, since winter storage is inevitably any day now, before the 1st snow.
